Israel refills war coffers in readiness for war with Lebanon
International investors are signalling they are happy with Israel's war results in Gaza which is encouraging the Israeli government to do the same in Lebanon.
On 6 Mar 2024, Israel completed its first international bond sales since the 7th Oct attack. The issue recorded the highest demand ever in the history of Israel. As part of it, 3 new bonds were issued for 5 years, 10 years and 30 years with a total amount of $8 billion. The spread in the issue was 135, 145 and 175 basis points respectively, above the US government bond yield for a similar period.
