Israel's greatest lessons from 7th Oct
Israel's most important lesson from the 7th of Oct attack and its aftermath is not to rely solely on the US for its security. This pattern that culminated in the backing of the US war in Ukraine was a grave mistake committed by Israeli leadership. By ignoring China's interests, Israel lost its backing. For example, if Israel was friendly to China it would have worked with it on the red sea blockade.
The US is taking advantage of Israel's vulnerability to advance its own interests at the expense of Israel. Now the US wants to tie Israel to Saudi so it can generate economic benefits for itself. However, in pursuit of that, it is ignoring Israel's strategic security interests. Israel should diversify its partners and India will be a good point to start. Repairing relations with China and Russia is not possible in the near future.
Israelis need to learn to fight differently. Hence, Israel needs to adopt to its security needs not US expectations. Tech wars are not going to make it win wars. American security needs are different from those of Israel. In the coming war, Israel needs to change its military into a hybrid force not a conventional army. Israel also needs to become more self reliant.
In short, the US and Israel relations will worsen following this war, but not for the reasons most think. Otherwise, Israel will risk grand military defeat.
