On 4 June, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence signed a $2.45 billion defence contract with EDGE Group, a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based technology conglomerate, for the procurement of FALAJ-3 62-metre missile boats. The sale, the largest of its kind in the region, marks a significant milestone in intra-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) relations, strengthening defence cooperation and regional integration. The deal reflects the strategic intent behind Kuwait’s recent defence and procurement reforms, aimed at modernising its military capabilities and deepening ties with regional partners.
