Newly created Syrian "Popular Resistance Brigades in the Eastern Region" attacks US troops
Iran and its allies feel they have an edge over adversaries making them take bolder moves.
Newly created Syrian "Popular Resistance Brigades in the Eastern Region" group claims responsibility for several drones and missiles attacks targeting US troops in Syria. According to the group, attacks will continue against "the US occupying forces until liberation".
Although the group made its first debut in 2018, it went quite for some years and it is now re-emerging, likely after getting more organised and prepared.
It seems what has been in the making for years is finally happening. Syrian government is sponsoring such a resistance and it is likely to intensify in the coming months in an attempt to push the US out of Syria.
Iran is backing Syria's efforts but the Saudis are not. Assad is using popular resistance to distance the regime from championing the US withdrawal demands due to its bad reputation internationally.
Iran and its allies in the levant are now in full engagement against the US and Israel in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon. Effectively, Iran is running an axis with a great level of harmony and integration operationally and strategically. This led to emboldened moves and is likely to continue as long as Iran and its allies feel they have an edge over adversaries.
