The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has accelerated investments in U.S. tech and AI, including stakes in Blue Owl, xAI, and Anthropic. These moves support a broader commitment to invest $500 billion in American assets, emphasizing stronger financial and strategic links across the Atlantic. At the same time, Qatar’s banking system is integrating more deeply with US dollar clearing networks. Together, these steps form a “soft pivot” toward Washington: a hedging strategy that maintains Qatar’s regional ties while embedding it further in the US-led global tech and finance systems.
