Last Thursday, Türkiye and Pakistan signed the 'Deepening, Diversifying, and Institutionalising the Strategic Partnership' joint declaration for bilateral cooperation during Turkish President Erdogan’s first visit to the South Asian country since 2021. Although the agreements span a wide range of sectors, there is a focus on further bolstering their robust military ties. The development comes at a precarious time in the region, marked by power vacuums and aid shortages arising from shifting regional dynamics. This situation presents an opportunity for the establishment of a Turkish defense trade hub and helps Pakistan navigate the US strategic partnership with India via the IMEC.
